The AI bot didn't give me a clear answer โ€” what now?

Try a second photo with better lighting, get closer to the area you're worried about, and add a short description of what's going on (when it started, what your pet was doing). The bot does best when it has both visual and behavioral context.

If you're still unsure, send the conversation to your vet โ€” every chat saves to your pet's history and can be shared in one tap.

Why does PetBuddy refuse to diagnose?

Because it would be both unsafe and illegal for an app to diagnose a medical condition. PetBuddy is a triage tool โ€” it tells you how urgent something looks and whether a vet visit is worth it. Only a licensed veterinarian can diagnose your pet.

I scanned a food/toy and the score seems wrong

Scans rely on the photo plus your pet's profile (species, breed, age). Make sure the profile is accurate โ€” a Yorkie and a Lab will get different toy-safety scores for the same chew. Also try scanning the product label or barcode straight-on for the best read.

If you still think the score is off, email us at petbuddy.ios@gmail.com with the scan ID (in the scan detail page) and we'll review it.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed through the App Store. To cancel: open Settings โ†’ [your name] โ†’ Subscriptions โ†’ PetBuddy โ†’ Cancel Subscription. You'll keep premium access until the end of the current period. We can't cancel for you because Apple is the merchant of record.

I want a refund

Same answer โ€” Apple owns the refund process for App Store purchases. Open reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the PetBuddy charge, and request a refund. Apple usually responds within 48 hours.

If you hit a wall with Apple, email us and we'll do what we can to help.

How do I delete my account and all my data?

In the app: Settings โ†’ Account โ†’ Delete account. This removes your account, all pet profiles, photos, AI conversations, and stored records within 30 days. Or email petbuddy.ios@gmail.com and we'll handle it for you.

The app keeps crashing on launch

First try the usual: force-quit the app (swipe up from the bottom and flick PetBuddy off the top), then re-open. If that doesn't fix it, restart your iPhone. Still crashing? Email us with your iPhone model and iOS version and we'll dig in.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet โ€” PetBuddy is iOS-only for now. Android is on the roadmap. Drop a note in the App Store reviews or email us so we can prioritize based on demand.

Can my vet see my pet's PetBuddy records?

Yes. Open your pet's profile, tap Share with vet, and PetBuddy generates a clean PDF of all stored records โ€” vaccinations, prescriptions, recent AI assessments, and scanner history. Email it or AirDrop it on the spot.

I lost my data after switching iPhones

If you signed in with the same account on the new device, your data should restore automatically when you open the app. If it doesn't, email petbuddy.ios@gmail.com with the email tied to your account and we'll look up the backup.
